It’s Day 3 of Henry‘s Fabric 101 and today he’s talking tulle.

When Cinderella wed her handsome prince there is no doubt at all that she wore a tulle gown.    Tulle is fine and delicate but still has the body and stiffness necessary for creating structure;  it’s perfect for creating romance and tradition in a gown.  Like organza (see yesterday’s blog), tulle is light but with an element of formality that is ideal for a range of occasions.

Here, we look at our favorite tulle gown silhouettes at Henry Roth:

1.       Classic tulle ballgown enriched with sparkling highlights like the Henry Roth design Karolina or Kalea.

2.       1950s style ballgown like the gorgeous Harley/ Hibiscus gets romanticized thanks to a tulle skirt and train.

3.       Princess is normally a slim, structured silhouette, but on a gown like Helena, a tulle treatment softens the look.

4.       Straight: Lace and tulle soften the silhouette on a gown like Ina/ Diana.  Here, tulle is used to subtly highlight the beauty and detail of vintage-style lace.

5.       A-Line gowns can produce a variety of silhouettes.  When the style is offered a tulle treatment, the effect is classic, romantic and soft.  See our Kali gown for inspiration.
